You now have a new job, and it will be a complete turn around to start over again with getting familiar about everything as everything else is new from the work environment and work style, new boss, new routine, and new people to work and get along with.
You will be at your adjusting and getting to know your way around everything pace, that you have to work on too to be able to carry on with the nor. the first impression of your new colleagues will be important especially on your first day, so, you have to show the right kind of interaction with everyone, together with the right attitude and character at work.
Do not get too excited and go overboard to being all the way friendly, reserve yourself, and focus on getting acquainted with how everything goes with the work routine and the how as well are the people around you go about their daily routine. Because, you will not be able to know everyone’s name in one go, but be familiar only with looks so take your time, anyways you will always have that immediate friend that can always be the person seated right close to you.
Introduce yourself to a few people in a day until you get everyone’s name familiarized so that you can easily make yourself comfortable with them in time too. Use this chance to make yourself comfortable, and start looking out on everyone else’s name so that you can slowly know who is and who is what.
Be polite and smile, and do not hesitate to ask questions and get info about your work if something is unclear, it is a way of opening up conversations and familiarizing the flow of work. This way, they will also open up to help you and guide you along the way until you get the gist of the work at hand and can carry on.
Be focused though and tend not to indulge on conversations that are not work-related and which that is not concerning you, yet be observant and keen as you discover more of this and what’s around you. At first, you can build camaraderie and relationship with a person or two, but in time you will soon find yourself in a group of friends and colleagues.
It is expected in an environment of people that you cannot please everyone, or you cannot make everyone like you, howbeit, just be polite and kind to everyone, and stick to the kind of people that you feel can be trusted and good to get along with.
Indeed it is a great responsibility personally, but by just knowing what you have to do and where you have to be in the right place and crowd, you will make your new job a comfortable one and in time you will gain confidence in dealing with everyone.
